Through the Samuel Fischer Visiting Professorship, the Peter Szondi-Institute for General and Comparative Literature invites authors to teach at Freie Universität Berlin for one semester. During the upcoming winter term, the Swiss author Meral Kureyshi, whose work has explored experiences of memory, migration, and belonging, will hold this professorship. In her seminar entitled „Autobiografie/Fiktion und die größte Lüge dazwischen," she and her students will examine the tensions between autobiographical narrative and literary fiction. All those interested are cordially invited to her inaugural lecture on October 27, 2026, at 6 pm at the Seminarzentrum of Freie Universität Berlin.
