The group is part of FUBiS, the Freie Universität Berlin International Summer and Winter University, and took part in the course "Sustainable Business: Strategy & Innovation" led by lecturer Oliver Schmidt. Every year, FUBiS brings students from around the world to Berlin for short academic programs, taught largely in English by German and international faculty, combining coursework with hands-on encounters with the city and the university itself.

As part of the course, students visited the university's rooftop photovoltaic installations, accompanied by staff from the Sustainability & Energy Management Unit. Among rows of solar panels on one of the campus's green roofs, students learned how Freie Universität Berlin promotes energy savings, plans to expand its PV capacity, and actively involves the university community in sustainability activities as part of its broader climate strategy.

The visit continued to the Blätterlaube, the university's community garden, where the group learned more about campus gardening and biodiversity initiatives, before wrapping up with a visit to the Mensa (dining hall) — offering the international group not only expert-led insight into the university's sustainability work but also a glimpse into everyday student life on campus.

The visit provided a hands-on complement to classroom learning, linking the course's focus on sustainable strategy and innovation with concrete examples drawn from the university's own sustainability management.
