We invite all instructors, students, and staff to actively contribute to the Teaching and Education Day 2026: “Developing Future Skills in Higher Education”.

At the very heart of Teaching and Education Day is an exchange about our experiences around teaching and learning at the FU Berlin. Only by bringing together all perspectives can we collectively shape and further develop our teaching and learning. This year, a particular focus is on the question of how we can support students in developing abilities to deal with complex challenges with an uncertain future. Contributions (short presentations, hands-on workshops or posters) from all disciplines and on any teaching-related topic are welcome.

We are looking for:

• Examples from teaching (and learning) practice that can offer new ideas to others;

• As well as challenges, open questions, or (didactic) approaches that could benefit from a broader discussion.

We especially welcome poster contributions. Posters make ideas and teaching concepts more visible, spark conversations, and can be featured online as part of our poster gallery. We offer a poster template, complete with reflection prompts, to help you create your poster. We are happy to print the submitted posters for you and will also cover the printing costs.

The Teaching and Education Day is a space where we can build on each other’s experiences and strengths, ensuring that good ideas and effective approaches don’t have to be discovered anew by everyone. Our goal is not just to highlight what works well, but to reflect together on how teaching and learning can be shaped in different contexts, and to develop new perspectives for the future of study and teaching.
