Courses taught in Chinese: HSK Level 5
Language Proficiency Requirements for Students of Chinese Studies (Chinese-China Program):
Academic courses taught in English: TOEFL IBT (90), IELTS (6.5, with no component below 6.0)
Chinese Language Program: DAAD language certificate, minimum B2 in English (to be verified by an FU language certificate)
Academic courses taught in Chinese: HSK Level 5
One of the listed language proficiency certificates must be submitted at the time of application.
GPA: at least 2,0 (8 for law students)
Duration: September - January OR late February - late June
Note: Exchange students at Fudan University must choose between one fo the following three programs:
1. Chinese Language Program: Students may only take Chinese language courses at ICES.
2. General Advanced Program: Student take subject-specific courses at undergraduate level. The opportunity to take Chinese language courses cannot be guaranteed.
3. Senior Advanced Program*: Students take subject-specific courses taught in English at graduate level, availbale in a limited number of academic fields (as of the winter semester 2026/27: School of International Relations and Public Affairs, School of Philosophy).
Applicants with Chinese Citizenship may apply for an exchange with Fudan University. They however are not eligible for a placement in the student dorms.Additional Scholarships:
Fudan University provides an additional scholarship of 4400 RMB per semester for four students.
