Useful information about the University Bibliography
The University Bibliography of the Freie Universität Berlin records publications authorship by employees/members of Freie Universität Berlin (during her/his employment at the FUB) and is also used by the Executive Board (Präsidium) to calculate performance-related funding.
FU-Employees enter their own publications using the submission tool, with DOI automated data transfer is possible. All data and metadata are quality-checked by the University Bibliography team. The data are processed for machine-readability in the cataloguing system, which allows for reliable transfer of your data to the University Bibliography. Targeted searches for publications can be done here.
Any person with ZEDAT-account and who is currently employed by Freie Universität Berlin may enter publications on their own behalf or on behalf of others. Non-tenured university staff, such as professors emeriti, lecturers, visiting scholars/scientists, grant holders, and doctoral students, do not have access to SEP despite having ZEDAT-accounts and should contact the SEP-contacts in the subject libraries in such cases. Publications by lecturers, visiting scholars/scientists and grant holders should only be recorded in SEP for the year of their stay at the university.
The University Bibliography lists articles in journals and newspapers, monographs (including FU-dissertations* published both commercially and non-commercially), contributions to edited collections, conference proceedings (including published abstracts), “gray” literature (e.g., institutional working papers), patent applications, and reviews. The editorship of anthologies, journals, and series is also listed in the university bibliography, as are authors' copyrighted television and radio programs, as long as they are not purely interviews.
*self-recording of FU-doctoral theses is not neccessary. The informations concerning the Freie Universität Berlin doctoral theses will be automatically transferred from the Hochschulschriftenstelle/Theses Department to the University Bibliography.
All data and metadata submitted through SEP are quality-checked by the University Bibliography team. The data are processed for machine-readability in the cataloguing system, which allows for reliable transfer of your data to the University Bibliography.
All publications can be searched in the University Bibliography, and publication data can be collated and exported in various formats.
