Open Research Office Berlin
The Open Research Office Berlin, which serves as the coordination centre for open science in Berlin, is based at the University Library of Freie Universität Berlin and is supported by the Senate Department for Science, Health and Care to assist Berlin’s scientific and cultural heritage institutions in implementing the objectives of the Berlin Open Access Strategy. It acts as a central point of contact for advice, networking and the development of joint initiatives in the field of open research.
Tasks & Objectives
- Coordinating exchange within working groups of Open Access officers at universities, Charité and higher education institutions under the responsibility of the State of Berlin
- Promoting cross-institutional collaboration between stakeholders from scientific and cultural heritage institutions
- Organising events and networking formats in Berlin and Brandenburg, as well as at national level within externally funded projects
- Exchange of experiences and networking with initiatives in other federal states, including close cooperation with the Open Access Brandenburg Networking and Competence Centre
