Tania Garrido-Garduño is a full-time Professor and Researcher at the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Iztacala, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from UNAM and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology in Germany. Her research focuses on biodiversity conservation, landscape and population genomics, and urban ecology, with particular emphasis on understanding how environmental change influences wildlife populations. In recent years, she has expanded her work to include science communication and biodiversity outreach, promoting public engagement through educational workshops and citizen-oriented initiatives. As Institutional Liaison for the National Laboratory for Climate Change Biology (LNBioCC) at FES Iztacala, she contributes to strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration on climate change and biodiversity conservation. Through her teaching, research, and outreach activities, she seeks to bridge scientific knowledge and higher education to foster sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and evidence-based decision-making in academic and societal contexts.
