Keynote: Sustainability under Scrutiny - Rethinking the Role of Science and Higher Education

After the opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Mandy Singer-Brodowski (University of Regensburg) will give the keynote address on the topic "Sustainability under Scrutiny - Rethinking the Role of Science and Higher Education" to officially open the conference, together with Dr. Felix Matthes (Oeko-Institut). She will also participate in the panel discussion that follows.
Prof. Dr. Mandy Singer-Brodowski studied educational science at the University of Erfurt. She worked at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy and as the scientific coordinator of the Center for Transformation Research and Sustainability at the University of Wuppertal. In 2015 she completed her PhD at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg about Self-organised Learning and Competence Development in Higher Education for Sustainable Development. After being PI of different research projects at Freie Universität Berlin, she was appointed as a professor for Education for Sustainable Development at the University of Regensburg in 2024.
