Prof. Samar M. Bassam (Pharos University in Alexandria) will be part of the workshop "Finding the Right Voice: How Universities Can Communicate Sustainability Without Losing Credibility". There, she will speak on the topic „Institutional readiness, validation, and ensuring that sustainability communication is grounded in substantive institutional action and evidence“ during the second workshop session.
Associate Professor Samar M. Bassam is a faculty member at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Pharos University in Alexandria. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Alexandria University and earned her PhD from Cairo University in 2019. Her academic specialization is in pharmacognosy and natural products research, with research interests including medicinal plants, phytochemistry, herbal medicines, essential oils, and network pharmacology. Her work focuses on the discovery and evaluation of bioactive natural compounds and their potential therapeutic applications using both experimental and computational approaches. Dr. Bassam is actively involved in teaching, curriculum development, and international academic collaborations. She also contributes to interdisciplinary projects related to sustainable development goals, pharmaceutical education, and innovation in natural product and pharmaceutical research. She has been an active member of the “ Sustainability for ranking” committee at PUA for 2 years and has many contributions in this field.
