Poster Session - Forum for all participants

Conference Program: Wednesday, 23 September

Bengisu Berispek (Technische Universität Berlin) will be part of the poster session at 9.00 a.m. She will give an input on the topic „From Campus to Collective Impact“.

Bengisu Berispek is a researcher, lecturer, and transformation lead in the Digital Water Systems department at Technische Universität Berlin, where she leads the Sustain.ALL Transformation Hub. This interdisciplinary, challenge-based learning and innovation platform brings together students, researchers, university stakeholders, and external partners to co-create solutions to real-world sustainability challenges. Her work focuses on participatory approaches to sustainable transformation, climate governance, and the role of universities as living laboratories for societal change.

Before taking up her current role at TU Berlin, she worked for Berlin city on the climate-neutral transformation of public buildings. She contributed to long-term climate strategies for a portfolio of around 5,000 buildings and developed participatory approaches such as Climate Coaching, connecting technical climate action with organisational and behavioural change.

Her current research explores how technical knowledge, participation, governance, and emerging digital tools can be combined to accelerate climate-neutral transformation within and across organisations. Through Sustain.ALL, she develops transdisciplinary formats that foster collective learning and action across institutional and disciplinary boundaries.

Bengisu holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering and Science from TU Berlin and is currently pursuing her doctorate. In 2024, she was named one of Tagesspiegel’s “100 Most Important Figures in Berlin Science,” while Sustain.ALL was recognised as a Falling Walls Engage Winner Project. These distinctions honour her work at the intersection of sustainability, participation, and science engagement.
