Contact Persons for University Members Affected by Antisemitism
Prof. Dr. Marina Allal and Prof. Dr. Alexander Libman are the contact persons for university members affected by antisemitism at Freie Universität Berlin. They can be reached by email at ansprechperson-antisemitismus@fu-berlin.de or via the contact form below. They are liaison lecturers (Vertrauensdozent*innen) of the Netzwerk Jüdischer Hochschullehrender (Network of Jewish Academics) at Freie Universität Berlin.
They are available as confidential contact persons to students, researchers, lecturers, and staff of Freie Universität Berlin. The service is intended for anyone who has experienced or witnessed antisemitic incidents, as well as for those who are unsure how to assess statements, actions, or situations.
Consultations are confidential and can be held anonymously on request. No information is passed on without the consent of the person concerned.
The contact persons help to assess incidents and provide information on possible courses of action and support services. Where needed, they refer to specialized counseling services, in particular OFEK e. V., the counseling center for antisemitic violence and discrimination. They are equally available to those affected, to witnesses, and to anyone seeking advice.
If you have experienced or witnessed an incident, or have questions about a possible antisemitic dimension, you can contact the contact persons at any time.
In addition, the contact persons support the further development of antisemitism prevention at Freie Universität Berlin and work closely with the relevant offices within and outside the university to this end.
In assessing antisemitic incidents, the contact persons for university members affected by antisemitism at Freie Universität Berlin are guided by the Working Definition of Antisemitism of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). The working definition serves as a guide for recognizing and classifying the various forms of antisemitism.
