Personal safety on site is paramount. Make sure to stay informed in preparation for and during your stay abroad independently about the current situation at the destination country:

• Travel warnings & safety notices: Before traveling, check the latest country-specific information from the Foreign Department. For ongoing updates, it is recommended that you subscribe to the country-specific newsletter or use the “Sicher Reisen” (“Travel Safely”) app.

• Crisis preparedness list (ELEFAND): Before departing, be sure to register with the Federal Foreign Office’s crisis preparedness list. In an emergency, the responsible German diplomatic mission abroad can then contact you directly with safety-related information.
