• University of Zurich UZH Global Strategy and Partnerships Funding Scheme: The funding scheme is open to joint collaboration initiatives with specific partner universities of the University of Zurich including Freie Universität Berlin

Funding initiatives of the Berlin University Alliance 

• Berlin Career Track Academica (Pilot Phase): Postdoc Funding at a BUA institution and a BR50 institute for applicants engaged in research outside EU, Norway, or Switzerland at the time of application and for at least two years
• FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo): Seed funding for joint projects of researchers from the BUA and institutions in the federal state of São Paulo
• Flexible Travel Funds des Berlin Center for Global Engagement: Support of collaborative research projects between BUA researchers and their partners in the Global South

• Chicago Research Collaboration Intitiative: closer cooperation, foster new research partnerships, and lay the groundwork for larger collaborative research ventures
