Through the Clusters of Scientific Innovation in the Middle East and North Africa (COSIMENA), the DAAD supports a variety of scientific events in Egypt that bring together German and Egyptian universities and research institutions, also encouraging  the  involvement of additional partners from the MENA region. 
The funding scheme supports different event formats, including: 

• Public and evening lectures
• Workshops, roundtables and symposia
• Summer and winter schools
• Components of international conferences
