The Berlin University Alliance (BUA) and the University of Melbourne (UoM) invite proposals for joint research workshops to be held in 2026 in Berlin or Melbourne. The aim is to develop competitive external funding applications and strengthen or initiate research collaborations.

Each workshop must be co-led by an eligible Principal Investigator from both a BUA institution (Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin or Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin) and the UoM. The call welcomes all disciplines, with particular encouragement for interdisciplinary teams and Early Career Researchers.

Up to four workshops will receive funding of up to €10,000 / AUD 16,000 per project. All activities and travel must be completed by November 2026. Applications are due by 30 March 2026 at 15:00 AEDT via the UoM SmartyGrants portal, with results to be announced by the end of April 2026 and funding beginning on 1 June 2026.
