Based on an agreement with The World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries (TWAS), the DFG is funding opportunities for scientists at German research institutions to invite early-career researchers with doctoral degrees in any disciplines to their institution in Germany for a three-month research and cooperation visit. As part of the TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Program, researchers from sub-Saharan Africa and Egypt, Algeria, Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Syria, and Tunisia can be invited. The DFG pays the host institution up to €2,350 per month to cover the visiting researcher's living expenses. In addition, flight and train costs for arrival and departure (including visa fees) are covered up to an amount of €1,350. The host institution can also receive up to €700 per month in material resources for project expenses, such as materials and laboratory costs.
