From 23 to 28 August, the NT26 conference brought nearly 400 international guests to Freie Universität Berlin to exchange ideas on the latest research in the field of nanotubes and low-dimensional materials.

The programme featured seven different tracks on specialised topics, as well as numerous outstanding keynote lectures, plenary sessions, and opportunities for networking and informal exchange. A special feature of the 26th International Conference on the Science and Applications of Nanotubes and Low-Dimensional Materials was a track developed in collaboration with Una Europa: “Carbon Nanotubes and Beyond: Novel Materials for Quantum Technologies”. This track is closely linked to Una Europa’s Future Materials & Technologies focus area and showcased current research approaches from across the alliance.

The Una Europa track was organised by Patryk Kusch und Sabrina Jürgensen from Freie Universität Berlin, together with Carola Meyer from Osnabrück University. Other international researchers presenting in the track included Ana Laura Elías Arriaga (University of Zurich), Paola Ayala (University of Vienna), and Pertti Hakonen (Aalto University).

This autumn, Patryk Kusch and Sabrina Jürgensen will participate, together with Beate Paulus, in the four-part Una Europa workshop series on Future Materials & Technologies; they are also involved in organising the series.
