From Monday to Wednesday (21-23 Sept.), Freie Universität Berlin hosted the 6th edition of the Una Europa Student Project Incubator. Bringing together 30 students from across the alliance, the programme focused on the critical field of Green Chemistry.
Working in interdisciplinary teams, participants tackled real-world sustainability challenges. Projects ranged from developing innovative adhesives to make smartphones more repairable to designing more sustainable and recyclable printed circuit boards. Beyond the technical solutions, students gained valuable transferable skills and built lasting connections with peers from diverse academic backgrounds.
The Incubator was integrated into the broader conference, "Sustainability in Higher Education: Between Transformation and Shifts," which brought together a wide array of experts and scholars over the course of three days. By bridging the gap between academic theory and societal application, the event highlighted the power of collaborative innovation in driving a sustainable future.
