Researchers from Freie Universität Berlin will be travelling to Universiteit Leiden this autumn to participate in a four-part workshop series offered by Una Europa at Leiden's prestigious Lorentz Centre. The workshop series is aimed at exploring future materials & technologies and will be open to researchers from all Una Europa partner universities.
Prof. Dr. Beate Paulus from FUB's Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry is the co-organiser of the second workshop on "Materials for Energy and Computational Materials". The other workshops will focus on "Quantum Materials and Technologies", "Synthetic Soft Materials", and "Bio-Fabrication & Structural Integration". Each two-and-a-half-day workshop will bring together ~20 peers for poster and discussion sessions, collaborative activities, and invited talks.
Other researchers from FU Berlin travelling to Leiden for the workshops are Dr. Patryk Kusch and Dr. Sabrina Jürgensen for "Quantum Materials" as well as Dr. Sreejani Karmakar and Dr. Matthew Mayer for "Energy Materials".

While the application and selection for the first two of the four workshops is already complete, interested researchers can still apply for workshops #3 and #4 that will take place in November. The call for applications is currently open open until 29 August:

• Synthetic Soft Materials: From Molecular to Nano and Colloidal Systems (9–11 November)
• Bio-Fabrication and Structural Integration (11–13 November)
