This calendar year, Freie Universität Berlin will carry out the maintenance of its medium-voltage switchgear systems required under applicable technical standards. This preventive maintenance measure serves to identify potential sources of malfunction at an early stage and to ensure a reliable power supply for university operations on a long-term basis.

This work requires a complete power shutdown of the respective switching stations. Due to technical constraints, an alternative power supply — for example via emergency generators — is only possible in individual cases.

What does this mean for you?

On the maintenance days, complete power shutdowns will be required in the affected buildings. These buildings will remain closed on these days and may not be accessed. Rescheduling the maintenance dates is not organizationally possible.
