A Data Management Plan (DMP) describes how the research data created or used in a project is systematically managed throughout a research project. It is a requirement of many research funding organisations and a useful tool for reflecting on and improving one's data management workflows. This online workshop is aimed at researchers and doctoral candidates at any stage of their project.
Content Part 1 (approx. 1 hr)
- What is a DMP and why is it useful?
- What information are required for a detailed DMP?
- What are funders' requirements regarding data management plans?
- Which tools and templates are available to implement a DMP?
Content Part 2 (optional)
- This second part of the workshop is a hands-on session, guided by questions and small exercises on the implementation of a DMP. If you are about to start or would like to continue writing your DMP, feel free to bring your own drafts and examples along. You can ask questions, give and receive feedback, discuss challenges with your peers and the workshop host (member of the research data management team).
